Requirements

Check what your team needs to install Atrio Remote and start accessing your systems through the browser.

Server

Operating system
Windows Server 2016 or newer
Architecture
x64 only
Tested on
Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025
Port
443 by default, changeable during installation
Data
C:\ProgramData\AtrioRemote by default
Database
SQLite, embedded. No external database
Network
The product publishes the RDP of the host itself; the engine listens on loopback only
Internet
Outbound internet access on the server, at activation and during use. Networks with no internet access are not supported in this version.

Accounts and domain

Server outside a domain, local accounts
Supported
Domain member server, Active Directory accounts
Supported
Server that is a domain controller
Use a domain member server

With domain accounts, three environment settings need to be in order — they belong to Windows and the domain, not to the product:

  • Whoever signs in needs the Access this computer from the network right: the portal validates the password with a network logon.
  • The Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services GPO overrides the local setting — adding the person to Remote Desktop Users may not be enough.
  • The domain controller must be reachable: a network logon does not use cached credentials. Local accounts still sign in with .\name.

Computer of whoever connects

To use the portal
Just the browser
To print on the local printer (optional)
Print Client, Windows 10 version 1809 or newer

Browser of whoever connects

Supported browsers: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, version 109 or newer. Use one of the supported browsers to access all portal features, including copy and paste.

Server compatibility

Server 2012 R2 and earlier

Microsoft support has ended and they were never tested.

Server Core

Administration requires the Windows Server graphical interface (Desktop Experience).

Nano Server and containers

One installation publishes the RDP of that host.

Windows 10 and 11 as a server

Windows 10 and 11 can be used in a lab. For production, use Windows Server and follow Windows licensing and session limits.
